Wife slices off her husband's penis after accusing him of having an affair

The couple, said to be married for 14 years now, were living apart but came together on the request of their elder son who is now 13 years.

The husband and wife, identified only as Jagadeesan and Sarasu respectively, met working in a garment industry. They have four children now.

Police say the couple were fighting well into the early hours of the morning, when Sarasu pulled out a sharp knife and cut off her husband's penis.

"The quarrel continued till 2am on Thursday and he went to sleep. Around 3am, Sarasu brought a sharp knife from the kitchen and cut off her husband's penis and left the house with the chopped off part," special sub-inspector of police A Krishnamoorthy told India Times.

The woman's husband was taken to a local hospital by his neighbours after they heard him crying with pain.

Jagadeesan who was later referred to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital after a first aid treatment.

Police arrested Sarasu while she was on her way to her parents house and recovered the chopped-off part from her purse.

According to the Times of India, she has been charged with using filthy language, voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and threatening with dire consequence.
