Alcohol level in the air at students' party ground so high that it registered on breathalyser

Police stormed the area following incessant complaints by neighbours that the entire area was smelly of alcohol.

Truly, when the police arrived at the scene, the area in question was so filled with alcohol that a breathalyser could record it.

Then, it became clear that SAE members had held the party in a rented house in the vicinity.

According to odditycentral.com, Court documents show that the police officers found insulated windows, plastic bags full of beer cans and liqueur bottles, and the floors sticky with spilled booze.

The news portal further reported that the ambient air inside the suburban house was tested with at least one breathalyzer and registered a positive result of 0.1.

Reports say about 70 people, aged 17 to 20, attended the Tequila Tuesday party. Some locked themselves in the bathroom and one jumped from a second-storey window, in an attempt to escape police.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon members have been charged with 126 counts each of allowing underage possession of alcohol and furnishing alcohol to a minor. They face fines of up to $315,000.

Three of the accused Sigma Alpha Epsilon members were on the 2017 executive board of the fraternity, according to the police.
