How a celebrity stylist failed to dress for her own wedding

Akosua Vee, wife of Ghanaian musician, Kwame A Plus left the best for the last. She stunned in a beautiful dress that looked like a see-through with crystal patterns along the dress.

She has made some grand appearances and has styled some top celebrities who always end up amongst the best dressed if not the best.

Akosua Vee's real name, Violet Bannerman, even made it to our top five celebrated stylists not long ago but fashion observers are highly disappointed, well! myself inclusive.

Akosua Vee's union with her husband was celebrated in a very beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony last weekend, September 23, 2017, here in the capital.

Fashion lovers like myself were highly elated not just because of their feat but because we knew Ghana was going to be hit with iconic wedding dress.

I was super glued to my Instagram and twitter feed with hopes of seeing that breathe taking apparel which to me was a justified expectation.

Did she meet our expectations ?

Not at all, it was a big NO! Akosua Vee. The ceremony- “check”, food- “great”, attendance- “perfect”, bridal train- “phenomenal”, wedding garment- “sigh”.

Madam why would you hit us that much below the belt? Come on Akosua, it’s your wedding; a once in a lifetime ceremony(hopefully) so you had a no reason to play flat.

Did she forget that her wedding was going to create some buzz?

Come on Vee, your fashion sense steals headlines so you were to look sharp.

Will you be kind enough to explain to Ghanaians the inspiration behind it? Feel free! After your honey moon dear.

Let’s do her garment some fashion incision. So, she opted for an off-white vintage ball gown which to me was a perfect color choice because it complimented her skin, cool enough.

The apparel had quite some decorative cluster of beads, flowers, and rhinestones. The vintage gown was cool, we all know that piece is in vogue but sorry Akos your body type doesn't pretty well much in that.

The gown would have worked beautifully if she got rid of those ruffles right beneath the details around the chest and belly area.

It looked like the most detestable apron one would ever find in a fashion corner. We would have had less to say about the dress if the ball part of the gown had no ruffles. I clearly got what your designer was trying to achieve; a vintage royal wedding look sort of but that style was very parallel to madams’.

Her bridal makeup and hair were stunning, go girl!!! That was perfect.

Interestingly, she left the best for the last, i mean at her reception. She stunned in a beautiful dress that looked like a see-through with crystal patterns along the dress.
