The rapper was originally part of Nananom -- one of the very first Hiplife groups in Ghana which were vibrant in the late 1990s.
He broke away from the group to embark on a solo career. He had a successful solo career following a trend of sampling old-school Highlife hits which gave him the chance to work with legends like Awurama Badu, Alhaji K. Frimpong and C. K. Mann.
Omanhene passed during the early hours of Wednesday at the 37 Military Hospital where he has been on admission for some time now.
The "Kyenkyen Bi Adi Me Awu" hit singer has been in and out of hospital between November 2015 and February 2016 and was admitted after his condition deteriorated in April this year.
