GRA shuts down Metro TV over taxes

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has reportedly shut down Metro TV over non-payment of taxes.

Sources say that the new owners of the Accra-based station, Jospong Group of companies, had no idea that there were certain liabilities left by the previous owners.

The GRA, as part of efforts to retrieve the huge amount owed the State in taxes, shut down the station.

It is, however, unclear if the new management will pick up the tax liability.
