March 6, 2017 will be exactly 60 years since Ghana declared political independence from Great Britain.

Analysis

In 2007 when Ghana turned 50, the Secretariat that oversaw the celebrations was fraught with corruption allegations.

The committee has its work cut out for it and they will need to organise things very quickly as it has just about six weeks to pull the entire thing off and with a tight budget as the country is currently undergoing economic challenges.
