Asia Huang, also known as Aisha is behind the booming illegal mining (galamsey) in the Ashanti, Western and Eastern Regions.

She was arrested over the weekend at her residence in Kumasi. Confirming the arrest to the media, Kwame Takyi, the Comptroller General at the  Ghana Immigration Service said :“We picked information about this lady called Aisha so we immediately had to take effective action and arrest her. We sought permission from the Minister of Interior and his deputy, Mr. Ambrose Dery and Henry Quartey and they gave instruction to quickly arrest her.

He also added that Aisha is in the custody of the GIS in Accra, undergoing investigations.

Her arrest follows a revelation by editor of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Kweku Baako that she has been arrested and released three times.

"Aisha was arrested and released three times because she blackmailed the powers that be into submission with tapes and videos of sexual encounters she commissioned."
