Reinstate Denkyira-Obuasi DCE - Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong speaking on Adom TV appealed to the President to lift his suspension on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region, Daniel Appianin.

The outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reinstate the suspended District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region, Daniel Appianin.

Mr. Daniel Appiannin who is the head of the District's Security Council said he was unaware of the presence of military officers in the area detailed to supervise a clamp down on illegal mining which led to the death of Major Maxwell Mahama.

"...in fact, he [Major Maxwell Mahama] is said to be the leader…I am shocked they are not briefing you very well but rather claiming they are here to fight galamseyers," the DCE said.

Social media descended heavily on the DCE's condemning the comments which many believed was insensitive and ignorant.

He was later suspended for comments he made after the murder of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama.

The decision to suspend Daniel Appianin was taken by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

But Kennedy Agyapong speaking on Adom TV appealed to the President to lift the suspension on the DCE.

"I am appealing to the President to reinstate the DCE for Denkyira-Obuasi because whatever he said was true," he said.
