The Sekyere Central District Security Committee says it cannot sanction a directive by the traditional authorities in Beposo, asking goats and black dogs to be taken out of the town.

Paramount Chief of Beposo, Nana Boamah Kwabi IV, gave the order following the death of five natives in the June 3 flood and fire disaster in Accra.

It follows what he calls a spiritual advice by a fetish priest from Seikwa in the Brong Ahafo region to prevent further calamities from befalling the community.

District Chief Executive, Ebenezer Akuoko-Frimpong, tells Nhyira FM the district security council (DISEC) has strongly advised the Omanhene to stop implementation of the order.

“The decision of DISEC is that, that traditional fiat that he has issued would not be feasible. It would be very difficult to be implemented by him, and so we have strongly advised him to stop and he should desist from sending any emissary to any goat farmer or anybody who is rearing black dog to cause any trouble,” Mr. Akuoku-Frimpong warned.

Meanwhile, there is relative peace in the area as DISEC meet Monday to review the decision.

Mr. Akuoko- Frimpong has promised DISEC’s support to all residents as it steps up monitoring of the situation to avoid any disturbances.

‘There is peace in Beposo traditional area. He has not been able to send anybody to the people who are rearing black dogs or goats. They are going about their normal duties. The rearing of goat and black dog continues unabated. We are monitoring the situation to see what can be done to see if what can be done,” Mr. Akuako-Frimpong said.
