According to Graphic Online, at least 11 homes have been earmarked for demolition in the Dechemso-Airport roundabout. Other neighbourhoods expected to be affected are Moshie Zongo, WAEC and Abrepo.
Demolitions in the country are characterised by confrontational scenes between authorities and local residents. However, the new mayor of the city is optimistic this exercise would go smoothly because they would be carried out in according with the law to minimise the loss of valuable property.
