A Deputy General Secretary of the NDC Koku Anyidoho said Freddie Blay knows Nana Akuffo Addo will not win the 2016 elections that is why he accepted to run adverts for President Mahama in his newspaper for a fee.
Speaking to Accra-based Class FM, Koku Anyidoho said the National Chairman of his party (Kofi Portuphy) will not do same.
“It is very interesting, that the acting [National] chairman of the NPP is busy running ads for the person that he has schemed very hard to take the baton from.”
He explained that Freddie Blay only accepted this offer because “he [Freddie Blay] knows Akufo-Addo is not going to win the elections. And, he doesn’t want to be struck twice so, he will rather go for money now and be running ads for president Mahama and when Akufo-Addo loses he continues with his business.”
“If he decides to play hard politics and doesn’t run any ad for president Mahama and Akufo-Addo loses then he has lost out on both ends. So, he has done the mathematics, the calculations and said, let me be taking what I can be taking now by way of advertisement revenue and be managing ‘small, small small, small’ after my man has lost the election I will focus on my business,” he said.
Daily Guide Newspaper which is owned by Freddie Blay is running adverts for the re-election of President Mahama ahead of the December polls. This has led to some members of the NPP doubting the allegiance of Blay to the party.
