Kennedy Agyapong says he warned BOST boss against accepting position

He said if Mr Obeng had heeded to his counsel, the current controversy surrounding how he sold some 5 million litres of contaminated fuel to Movempiina oil would not have occurred.

He said the Mr Obeng was making huge sums of money managing his printing firm but noted that the current BOST saga is soiling his reputation as a public servant.

The maverick politician said: “I remember warning him against the BOST job.

“You have a big printing press and making huge sums of money…if you had heeded to my calls this nonsense some NPP people are doing to you will not have happened.”

He, however, urged the embattled BOST MD not to resign his position, after the minority asked him to step aside for full scale investigations.

He insisted that he must stay on to clear his name of any wrongdoing.

“I have asked him not to resign……he should stay and clear his name because if he does not do that it will affect his public record in the future”, he said.

Mr Agyapong's comments come as the Ministry of Energy and the Bureau of National Investigations have launched separate investigations into the matter.
