Didi Dramani blames altitude for Black Satellites defeat

According the head coach of the U20 team of Ghana his side lost because of climatic conditions and not tactical reasons.

The Black Satellites conceded 2 early goals in the first half, before they pulled one back through Jonah Osabutey in the second half.

Didi Dramani believes conditions like altitude and turf were not favourable for the team, but they were tactically disciplined.

“The altitude was actually a big factor, even before the game started those of us who didn’t play were struggling for breath,” he said after the game.

“I will continuously congratulate them for fighting throughout. Many of them were also coming up with cramps because the pitch was not so good, so hard and they were also not enough energy because they were also not getting more oxygen.”

“We lost not because of tactical or physical conditions but because of the climatic conditions,” Dramani said in a post-match interview.

Ghana will host Ethiopia in the return leg and the Winner of the two-legged tie will advance into the final round of the qualifiers where all 8 winners will make it to the 2017 AYC tournament to be staged in Zambia.
