We do not respect Women Football - Sports Committee member

Parliamentary Sports Committee Member feels the attitude towards the hosting of the 2018 Women's African Cup of Nations in Ghana is a sign of disrespect

Mr Woyome was speaking on the floor of Parliament when he touched on the manner which the African Women Cup of Nations Cup is being approached.

He first tried to assess the progress of the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations to be held in Ghana.

“The rights to host tournament was given to us around November 2016 and yet we have not seen any effort to ensure the hosting and participation form our dear ladies.

“As of two months ago, there were a number of concerns considering the organization of this tournament.”

Honoaurble Woyome also of the view that the attitude towards the hosting of the tournaments portrayed that the state does respect women’s football.

CAF officials visited Ghana on a five-day inspection exercise of various facilities.

Facilities in Cape Coast and Accra are being inspected within this said period.
