Muntari is reported to have slapped the referee after being displeased with a decision made by the official.
The said exhibition match was being played between select sides of the former AC Milan midfielder and former Black Stars colleague Laryea Kingston.
Muntari reportedly kicked the ball out of play after being shown a yellow card by the referee and slapped him in the face, before walking off the pitch, to the surprise of the on-looking fans.
And though the alleged assault has been denied by Laryea Kingston, referee John Terry has now threatened to report Sulley Muntari to the police.
According to him, his assault by the midfielder will not be allowed to rest, adding that he will pursue it to its conclusion.

Speaking in an interview with Peace FM, the assaulted referee said: "I have not dropped the case. I will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion with the authorities.”
The incident marks another low for Sulley Muntari who has been blighted by disciplinary issues throughout his career.
The 32-year-old was banned from the Black Stars set-up after reportedly assaulting a management member during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and the latest incident is bound to further damage his reputation, if found to be true.
