GFA delegation visit Manhyia to mourn with Asantehene
Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has led a powerful delegation of the federation to Kumasi to mourn with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the final funeral rites of his late mother.

Emergency Committee member Nanabeyin Eyison and Ashanti Regional FA chief Osei Tutu Agyemang joined the federation’s delegation for activities marking the final funeral rites of the late mother of the Asantehene.
Acting General Secretary Isaac Addo and Deputy General Secretary Ibrahim Sannie were all part of the visit to the Manhyia Palace.
The Asantehene received Nyantakyi and his delegation at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace where thousands had gathered to mourn the Queenmother.

“Your Royal Highness we have come here as the delegation from the entire football fraternity of Ghana to mourn with you and the entire Ashanti Kingdom following the loss of our dear grandmother,” Nyantakyi said.
“Ghana’s football’s solidarity with the Ashanti Region is strong and unwavering and the Ghana football fraternity wants you to know that we are mourning with you and the entire Ashanti Kingdom.
“Your role in Ghana football cannot be overemphasised as the owner of one of the greatest clubs in Ghana and Africa - Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Your big support for the various national teams especially the Black Stars is there for all to see.
“We have come to mourn with you and to show you that we appreciate Manhyia and the Ashanti Region’s contribution to Ghana football.”
Officials and players of Asante Kotoko were at the Manhyia palace earlier on Thursday to mourn with their life patron and owner of the club.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is the owner of this year’s MTN FA Cup Champions Asante Kotoko and an avid supporter of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
He has on various occasions offered words of encouragement and support to the Black Stars especially when the team is playing at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The late mother of the Asantehene who was also the Queenmother of the Asante Kingdom, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2016.
Activities marking the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa began on 1st December 2017 and will end on Monday 11th of December 2017.
