Maxwell Konadu refuses to quit after Burkina Faso humiliation

The Black Stars B coach has refused to resign despite overseeing the nation’s humiliating loss in the CHAN qualifiers.

The local Black Stars were handed a humiliating defeat at home to Burkina Faso following a 2-1 loss that ensured Ghana will not be present at the CHAN tournament for the second consecutive time.

Despite coming into the game with an advantage after a 2-2 draw away in Ouagadougou, the Black Stars B team lost the encounter 4-3 on aggregate after falling to a 2-1 loss in Kumasi.

Coach of the side Maxwell Konadu has come in for criticism following Ghana’s elimination from the tournament, with certain quarters calling for his resignation.

However, the former Kotoko coach insists he is not a quitter and will strive to right his wrongs.

Addressing the media after the loss Konadu said: “It’s not the matter of quitting, I am not a quitter. I have been with the team and working hard to get the best out of the team. ”

This is the second time Ghana has failed to make to the CHAN tournament under Maxwell Konadu, after the he again led the team that failed to qualify for the 2016 edition.
