Aduana Stars will welcome Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa on Sunday on match day five of the 2017 Ghana Premier League.

The Dormaa giants are top on the log sheet with 10 points and they are eyeing to extend their lead at the top of the table, hoping Asante Kotoko drops points against Elmina Sharks.

Aduana Stars started the season on a good note picking nine points in three games but their winning run was halted at WAFA in a 1-1 draw game.

For the Phobians they had a jerky start – picking three points in three games. However, they won their first game in the season beating the defending champions Wa All Stars 2-1 in Accra.

The last time Aduana Stars hosted Hearts of Oak was last season – it ended 1-1, Emmanuel Akuoko shot the ‘Ogya Lads’ into the lead after he connected home Godfred Saka’s cross, but the Phobians restored parity through Cosmos Dauda.

Aduana Stars last home game, they thashed Premier League new boys 4-0, while Hearts of Oak in their last away game they held Dwarfs to a 1-1 stalemate.

Captain for Aduana Stars ahead of the game had a chat with Pulse.com.gh:

“Hearts of Oak have always given us tough game in Dormaa, but this season we are not going to allow them. We are ready for them and we will beat them on Sunday.

“Hearts Oak is a big club with rich history, and they also have a lot of supporters but this time we are really determined, the motivation is very high and definitely we will pick the three points.”

But Hearts of Oak captain, Thomas Abbey, says they are not looking back following their hard fought win over Wa All Stars.

“When the season started we played three games without a win but in our fourth game we got the three points and that has really motivated us.

Aduana Stars are in good shape and they have won three games and drawn one – but their current form doesn’t scare us because we are ready to battle them and we are not going to look back, our target on Sunday is to get the three points.
