Gt. Olympics win protest against Hearts

This is how the Ghana Premier League table looks like after Olympics gained three points from their match against Hearts of Oak on match day 25

The Phobians edged their regional rivals the Wonder club 1-2 on match day 26 of the Ghana Premier League.

Gt. Olympics, however filed a protest against Hearts of Oak for failing to make the full payment of a fine slapped on them by the Ghana Football Association within the 14 stipulated days, before their league game.

The DC of the GFA after sitting on the matter have awarded the two times champions of Ghana three points and deducted Hearts of Oak three points.

Gt. Olympics who will now get an accumulated points of 39, will however, remain relegated despite moving from 15th place to 14th.

Hearts of Oak will still maintain their third position on the log sheet, despite losing three points.

Below is the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee

“The protest by Accra Great Olympics is hereby upheld by a majority decision of 3 to 2. Accra Hearts of Oak SC is held to have been in violation of Article 39(8)(e) of the GFA General Regulations in respect of this matter by the club's use of cheque to make part payment of a fine,”

“The scoreline of the match shall be 3-0 in favour of Accra Great Olympics FC in accordance with Articles.

“Full written opinions of the Disciplinary Committee to be delivered to parties on a later date.”
