Here are the problems facing Star Times in GPL coverage
The Star Times Country Director urges the media to be more appreciative of the work his company is putting in television broadcasting of the league

Star Times is the broadcast partner for the Ghana Premier League and in view of the league’s return, Pulse Sports caught up with the country director of Star Times in Ghana Ernest Arday. This was to project the coverage the league so far and what the company will want to do in terms of coverage for the coming season.
Mr Arday in assessing the coverage of the Ghana Premier League did state that it was the first year and there have been some challenges.

“Equipment has been limitations to the coverage and The OB Vans will be in soon. It has been shipped so we are still expectant,” Arday told Pulse.com.gh.
GTV has been supportive in aiding us to with their equipment but you do know those equipment are quite old but it’s what we have and we are appreciative of that.”
He did also go ahead the point out factors in picking matches to be telecasted on TV.
“We look at distribution since all the 16 teams need to get a share of the coverage. We consider geography as an important factor as it is quite difficult for us getting to some venues to telecast games.

“When we look at the equipment it might not be the best to move it to and fro and as we all know we are bound to have challenges with infrastructure as some stadium make situations complex when telecasting Ghana Premier League games.”
Mr Arday did also go on to make his personal appeal to the media
“My personal appeal to the media is we are all partners in developing the sports in Ghana. There is the need for the media to be to do some promotional work.
“Sports in infrastructure is a challenge. What we can do is to try as much as possible to help.”
"There have been times the company has felt vilified because the negativity coming from the media surrounding the league is making the league poorer.”

"The media should be more encouraging to help us build the game together.”
The Public Relations Officer of Star Times Eli Kondoh did give his submission on the one month recess the league went on
“We are fine with the break and the PLB made it known to us when the decision was made. We have the schedules for the rest of the games and we are going to work with that accordingly.”
