Jordan Ayew played the full 90 minutes as he received the same dosage his brother received the previous week. 4-0 it ended at the Liberty Stadium and Jordan Ayew’s partnership with partnership showed promise but lacked experience and urgency to pose a threat to the united defense.

Later in the day Jordan Ayew’s brother Andre went on another away trip to Southampton as they played in the St Mary’s. In a dramatic fashion Southampton beat West Ham 3-2 with Charlie Austin finishing the spot kick at the tail end to take all the 3 points for the home side.

Andre Ayew started that game and was substituted in the 68th minute.  The decorated Daniel Amartey had his team Leicester City come up against Brighton & Hove Albion. Leicester City won by 2-0 and Daniel Amartey played no part of it as he spent his time in the whole game on the bench.

However, one defender who did not get the opportunity to feature for Crystal Palace in the opening got a chance to make a cameo in week 2. Left Back Jeffery Sclupp came on in the 84th minute for Patrick Van Aanholt as his side lost at Anifield by 1-0.

It was not so great for the Ghanaian contingent in the Premier League as the only win that came through had a Ghanaian as unused substitute. We hope for better days in the weeks ahead for the Ghanaians in the English top flight.
