Jerome Boateng to visit Ghana for the first time

The Germany defender is set to visit Ghana, the homeland of his father.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup winning defender with the Germany national team was born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother.

He chose Germany over Ghana by committing the future of his international football, but he would want travel to the West African country to familiarize.

“I have been to Africa but I didn’t go to Ghana," Boateng told DW.

"I will go there this summer with my daughters and family members."

Jerome Boateng despite, deciding to play for Germany has a special place in his heart for Ghana and he has a tattoo to depict it.

“The tattoo started when I was 16-year-old," Jerome said.

"I was with my two older brothers and they said 'today we are all going to do the same tattoo but don’t tell your mother'.

"So we all went and had our bodies tattooed.

"It was the continent of Africa with Ghana inside."
