Asamoah Gyan took time off his busy schedule to watch his idol club Asante Kotoko play against on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.

Gyan, who received a honorary doctorate from a Ukrainian University at a ceremony at KNUST on Saturday, decided to watch the crunch match at the Baba Yara sports stadium.

And the former Sunderland marksman who doesn't hide his admiration for Asante Kotoko decided to spend a day more in Kumasi to enable him watch the Fabulous lads take on Medeama.

Gyan told Hot FM: "I have always said i will play for Kotoko before i retire,even if it is just a game, i have been a Kotoko fan since i was young and my dad too is a strong Kotoko fan."

In the game itself Porcupine during the game defeated Medeama 3-1 on Sunday to earn a sweet revenge for their match day 10 loss at Tarkwa.
