Michael Essien could have given his side the equaliser in the 54th minute but the centre referee didn't let his goal stand.

Before the interval Persib Bandung have had a goal scored by Raphael Maitimo disallowed in the 45th minute, so Essien's goal should have put them in the driving seat had both not have been disallowed.

The decisions by the referee did not go down well with the management of Persib who have lodge a protest.
