The West Indies-hosted tournament will see Australia take on the hosts and South Africa in a series of one-day internationals, starting on June 3.

Australia's first match comes against the Windies and Smith said he was confident he had overcome his wrist problems, which cut short his Indian Premier League season with Pune Supergiants, ahead of next month's tour.

"It's coming along good," Smith told reporters on Monday.

"It was nice to rest it for a couple of weeks and not pick up the bat or catch up any balls so it's good and ready to go.

"It was good to get out there [in training in Brisbane] and face a few of our bowlers, who are bowling really well.

"I feel like I'm hitting the ball well so hopefully there are some runs for me in the upcoming games."

Smith said paceman Mitchell Starc was one in particular to impress in the nets, speaking ahead of his team's departure from Brisbane airport.

"He's looking fresh and bowling at good pace, so it's exciting to have some success straight away and pick up where he left off," he added.

The Aussie skipper also had good news in regards to Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh, reporting that both were looking good to recover from their respective injury troubles in time for the series opener.

"'Maxy's' had a chance to recover and should be fine for the first game," he said.

"Marsh has been getting through his loads up here this week, he's been bowling well and batting well so he should be ready."
