Surprising confession from a spiritualist on his injury

The injury that prevented Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko from playing in the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil has taken another twist

The date was May 2014. Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah had three days to name his final squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil. The friendly game between Ghana and the Netherlands was his final assessment grounds for naming his players to play in Ghana’s third successive FIFA World Cup tournament.

For Ghanaian defender Jerry Akaminko, the future for a spot in the final 23-man squad looked bright. Bright until the Black Stars centre-back decided to make an aerial challenge against Arjen Robben in the friendly game against the Netherland.

Jerry landed awkwardly from the challenge and had to be stretched off. The earlier report from the injury seemed serious: a torn cruciate ligament.

Then the Ghanaian defender was reported doubtful. Doubtful turned into a long injury layoff that saw the player miss Ghana’s time at the World Cup tournament in Brazil [with all its money drama] and subsequently not featured in a single game for the senior national team of Ghana since.

The sad story of Jerry Akaminko’s injury took a surprising twist on Tuesday when some revelations were made by a spiritualist, Mallam Isaka Salia.

The revelation goes from surprising to shocking news when the spiritualist mentions the name of Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila.

According to Mallam Isaka Salia, he was the man who orchestrated the injury of Jerry Akaminko in the spiritual world per the instructions of international teammate Rashid Sumaila so Sumaila could make the Black Stars squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Rashid Sumaila did get a place in the final squad named by former Black Stars captain and coach, Kwesi Appiah.

Mallam Isaka Salia, a spiritually based in the Western Region of Ghana told Kyzz FM in Takoradi:

"He [Rashid Sumaila] came to me for assistance ahead of the World Cup and I promised to help him.

"I told him he could only get a position in the squad if one of the center backs is injured. He accepted and asked me to do it to Jerry Akaminko.“So I made sure Akaminko was injured so that Rashid's name will be in the squad.“I am now saying this publicly because he has failed to pay me.”

Black Stars player Rashid Sumaila has however denied claims from the spiritualist and has also denied even knowing him.

The player claims he was ‘shocked’ by the news and that Mallam Isaka Salia wants a name for himself and is trying to put enmity between himself and international teammate Jerry Akaminko. Sumaila concluded that ‘Allah will fight for him’ in these time of false allegations.

Mallam Isaka Salia is adamant of his claims and has given the Black Stars defender a seven-day ultimatum. Shocking but fingers crossed.
