Guus Hiddink urges Ghanaian defender to recover quickly

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink says he has spoken to Ghanaian defender

A misplaced header from Baba Rahman was taken advantage of by Shane Long who put Southampton 1-0 ahead. The player was then dropped by his manager for the second half of the game.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Norwich City on Tuesday, the Dutchman also urged his full back to recover quickly form his hurt confidence.

Guus Hiddink said at his press conference on Monday:

“We’ve talked to him [Abdul Baba Rahman], me and Steve. Of course he was upset, you saw the image on the pitch where he had his shirt over his head. At half-time he was sitting in the dressing room feeling down.

“He has to recover but you cannot always wait. He produced some decent play in recent games but we like to be critical because defensively you have to do your job as well.”
