We will support Kwesi Appiah to succeed- Asamoah Gyan
Asamoah Gyan says the Black Stars will fight their hearts out to help Kwesi Appiah to succeed as coach of the team.
Appiah was handed a two-year deal on Tuesday when the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced his second coming as the coach of the senior national male football team of Ghana.
Asamoah Gyan says he and his teammates will give out their best to back Kwesi Appiah as the new man in charge of the Black Stars.
“I think that this is a new era and we all have to support him because he is one of our own,” Asamoah Gyan told Accra-based Hot fm.
“The Ghana Football Association has made their call and it’s a man who has managed the team before so we all have to be positive and help him succeed for us.”
“I am yet to speak to my colleagues in the national team but I am sure they have heard and that we will all be looking forward with optimism.”
The former Ghana skipper's first stint with the Black Stars was from 2012 to 2014 and ironically he has taken over from Avram Grant, the same person who succeeded him.
Appiah will start job on May 1, but is first assignment is in June against Ethipia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
