The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been appointed as the second most powerful man in African football.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has been named as the 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday

Nyantakyi appointment was approved by the Executive Committee of CAF, following its first meeting under new President Ahmad Ahmad in Bahrain capital of Manama on Monday.
CAF will have two Vice presidents the 1st Vice and the 2nd Vice, so Kwesi Nyantakyi will be the second in command at CAF.
The owner of Wa All Stars becomes the second Ghanaian, after Ohene Djan to assume this high position in African football.

The legal practitioner was elected the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association in 2004 and subsequently elected as GFA President in 2005. He has since been in office as the President of the Ghana Football Association and was later elected onto CAF Executive Committee in 2011 and FIFA Council in 2016.
