President John Mahama has assured the world of government’s commitment to a peaceful 2016 general elections adding that Ghana will be touted as a leading country in democracy on the continent.

“In December, Ghana has yet another election and we will prove to the world yet again that we are a world class democracy.”

Speaking at the 71st United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, President Mahama said, “Ghana is an leading democracy in Africa, I stand before the world today to declare that just as we have done in the past, my country would go to the polls this December and the processes before, during and after would mark a further consolidation of Ghana’s credentials as a leading world democracy.”
