Asante Kotoko threw away a one goal lead as Medeama came from behind to beat them 2-1 at the T and A Park on Wednesday on matchday 10 of the Ghana Premier League.
Ahmed Adams header gave Asante Kotoko the lead in the late minute of the first half.
But referee Afful handed Medeama the opportunity to get the equaliser when he made a penalty call, which was contentious and Paul Aidoo stepped up to draw the hosts level.
Before a mistake by a Kotoko defender through a back pass, enabled a Medeama attacker to pick the ball and the defender pulled the attacker which resulted in a second penalty. Paul Aidoo again went for the kick and got the goal that emerged as the match winner for Medeama from the spot kick.
The win is Medeama's first ever against Asante Kotoko at the T and A Park. Kessben which were rechristened as Medeama SC were relocated from the Ashanti region to the Western region in the second half of the 2010-11 season and they had since struggled to beat Kotoko at both Tarkwa and Kumasi, until today.
