Ghana international, Michael Essien set the tone for the movement of stars into the Indosian league last month, after he sealed a one-year deal with Persib Bandung and his former Chelsea teammate Carlton Cole followed suit last week.

And Peter Odemwinge, who previously featured for Cardiff City, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion FC was quoted on an Indonesian websiteberitajatim.com saying: “Taretan, see you in Madura.” is the latest addition to the number of stars to join the Indosian topflight league.

The former Stoke City striker has signed a pre-contract agreement with Madura United and will be unveiled later this week as their marquee signing.

The club also confirmed the arrival of the former Nigerian international via their Twitter handle@MaduraUnitedFC, writing “Welcome Peter Osaze Odemwingie!” and posting a photograph of a club shirt with Odemwingie’s name on it.”‎

Osaze makes this move just less than six months after joining Rotherham United in the English Championship.

He left the side at the end of January in search of regular football.
