In the last couple of weeks, we have heard, read and seen various websites circulating the immediate death of some Ghanaians that were actually not true.

Websites that spread false news are on the rise in Ghana. They tend to clone other popular websites so that their news appears to be credible. This is not a problem only in Ghana.

According to some political analysts the rise of hoax which was spread on Facebook contributed to the election victory of Donald Trump. Facebook founder Zuckerberg has however debunked this assertion.
