Two ex-police officers who had been standing trial in Accra over the Donkokrom Bullion Van robbery, Corporal Kissi Abrokwa and Corporal Elvis Mensah were part of
Assistant State Attorney, Cyril Boateng Keteku told the Koforidua Circuit Court ‘B’ that on May 31, 2016, the police commander was on leave and visited Donkokrom. He said the commander woke up around 4am only to realise that thieves had broken in and made away with his bag containing a pistol, two magazines with 30 rounds of 9mm ammunitions each and a cash of Ghc1, 150.00.

According to the Ghanaweb.com, the four have been charged with conspiracy to steal, unlawful entry and stealing.
However, the other two gang members, Yakubu Salifu and Labaram Ganui pleaded not guilty to the charges. Their pleas for bail based on ill health were turned down by the court and they have been remanded into prison custody.
