Togolese striker set to receive £5.25m from former clubs, Manchester City, Spurs

Despite not being on their books, Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor is set to earn a hefty sum of £5.25m from his former clubs.

The 31-year-old left Manchester City for Tottenham in 2012 and was also released by Spurs last September.

In the deal that took him to Tottenham, City agreed to pay Adebayor  £75, 000 per-week while Spurs are still paying him £100,000-per-week, which will continue until the end of his contract there, which runs until June 30.

According to Daily Mail Adebayor will continue receiving these cheques from his former sides if he does not find a new club.

Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores could offer the 31-yea-rold striker a chance at the club if he can prove his fitness.

Flores is keen to add to his strike force of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney at Watford.
