Greenlight given for GFA elections to be held, after adopting new statutes

The Normalisation Committee has given the Ghana Football Association (GFA) the greenlight to elect new executives to run the association.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) at an Extra Ordinary Congress on Thursday at the Accra Physician and Surgeon Council adopted draft statutes by the Normalisation Committee (NC).

The adoption of the new statutes has paved way for the Normalisation Committee to open nomination for the upcoming GFA elections.

“We thank congress members for adopting the new statutes. This means elections of new executives of the GFA is set to be held,” Dr. Kofi Amoah, the President of the Normalisation Committee told the GFA Extra Ordinary Congress

“We will come out with the road map for the election in due time”.

The leadership of the Ghana Football Association was thrown out after some match and football officials were captured in an expose’ by multiple award-winning journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas dubbed ‘Number 12’.

FIFA formed the Normalisation Committee to review the statutes of the Ghana Football Association and put in place measures to bring back football to normalcy.

The Normalisation Committee as part of its mandate was required to bring a road map for the GFA elections.
