Accra Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi says their 1-2 away win over Ashanti Gold was a big win for his team.

The win in Obuasi ended Hearts of Oak’s four games winless streak in all competition.

The Phobians prior to the game have gone nine seasons without a win at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium and the bookmakers wrote the Accra giants off due to their internal issues between the coach and the club’s management over non-payment of players and coaches salaries.

But the Phobians defied all odds as they stunned the defending league champions; thanks to Cosmos Dauda’s second half brace.

“This win is very big and I think we need a moment of that and can keep going forward,” Yatsuhashi said after the game.

Hearts of Oak are second on the log sheet and their next Premier League game is against their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko on May 2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
