Pearce, 26, returned from an overseas rehabilitation clinic on Sunday, having been sent there after being filmed simulating a sex act with a dog while under the influence of alcohol.
On his return to Sydney after a month away, the star said he was ready to be punished for his actions.
"I love footy and it's something that I've missed a lot, being around my mates and being around footy," he said.
"I deserve the punishment, I totally humiliated myself and a lot of other people.
"I'm not hiding from anything, I'm here to cop whatever comes and we'll just wait and see what happens."
Pearce is expected to be fined and possibly suspended but said he had a lot more work to do.
"The hard work starts for me now. I've got a lot of people to earn respect back off," he said.
"Firstly it's about spending my time with my family today.
"I want to thank everyone for their support. I haven’t had a phone or TV for four weeks so it’s been a bit of isolation. I received a lot of text messages today which meant the world to me."
The Roosters open their NRL campaign against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on March 6.
