Vote for a flagbearer that can serve for 2 terms - Spio Garbrah

Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress, has tasked delegates of his party to vote for a candidate that can serve two terms.

He said the NDC needs a leader that will be able to serve two-terms.

“If we don’t want to serve for only one term once we take over from the NPP in 2020, then you have to vote for a candidate like me who can serve two terms", he said.

He said delegates of the party shouldn't lose sight of the long terms plans of the party and that voting for a candidate that can't serve two terms will be bad.

"If you vote for me, I’m qualified to serve two terms as President. So, think about this before you decide on who to vote for. We can’t fight and unseat the NPP after one term and come to power only to also serve for one term also. So, let’s choose a candidate who can serve two terms,” he said.

The former Minister of Trade and Industry said these while addressing delegates of the party at Anyaa Sowutuom in the Greater Accra.

Mr Spio-Garbrah is contesting with 11 other candidates including his former boss, ex-president John Dramani Mahama.
