Seventh seed Eguchi came through a gruelling battle with Grace Min - who had eliminated top seed Wang Qiang in the last eight - to book her place in a WTA singles final for the first time.
The Japanese eventually prevailed 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 6-3, in a contest that lasted two hours and 22 minutes.
Pliskova - whose twin sister Karolina plays Angelique Kerber in the US Open final - also has the chance to win her maiden WTA singles crown on Sunday.
Her place in the final was secured when Han Xinyun retired trailing 4-1 in the first set.
