Herbert Krapah: Deputy Energy Minister commends Engen Ghana Limited on 25th anniversary

Ghana's deputy minister for Energy, Herbert Krapah has applauded oil marketing company, Engen Ghana Limited for their immense contribution to the country's sector.

Mr. Krapah who was speaking at the 25th anniversary of Engen Ghana lauded the company for its service to Ghanaians across the 52 service centres in the country.

"25 years desrves to be celebrated in grand style, and all of you - the Board, Management and Staff of Engen Ghana should walk chest out, proud of what yo have all collectively achieved. Ghana's Petroleum story is not complete without Engen Ghana Limited," the deputy minister opined at the 25th anniversary at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

According to Mr. Krapah, Engen's contribution to the industry was important and cannot be overlooked by the government.

He also used the opportunity to educate those present on the government's Gold for Oil (G4Oil) policy. He stated that the programme was introduced by the NPP government to help stabilise fuel prices.

He explained that programme is an initiative implemented by the Akufo-Addo led government to use Bank of Ghana's existing domestic gold purchase (DGP) programme to support the importation of petroleum products into Ghana.

"The introduction of the Gold4Oil programme is to provide forex cover for importation of petroleum products outside of the existing forex arrangements."

He noted that this "has been a game changer and we are now enjoying significant lower ex-pump prices".

Engen Ghana Limited also used the occasion to award some distinguished staff.
