According to a statement signed and issued by the General Secretary Godfred Abulbire, the presidency has invited the leadership of striking commercial drivers for a talk.
'Trotro' drivers suspend nationwide strike as Akufo-Addo invites union leaders
The leadership of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union of TUC has suspended the strike action which took effect on Monday, December 6, 2021.

“The intended strike action which was scheduled to take effect today, Monday, 6th December 2021, has been suspended,” the statement issued said.
It added: “The leadership of the union has been invited to the presidency during the course of the day”.
“We, therefore, entreat our cherished members to go back to their normal duties”, the statement signed by General Secretary Godfred Abulbire said.
The nationwide sit-down strike by the commercial drivers led to thousands of commuters getting stranded Monday morning.
The drivers strike is intended to force the government to reduce the price of fuel, which has consistently soared since the beginning of the year.
