AiD Ghana and Coca-Cola donate school materials to over 20,000 pupils

No fewer than 20,000 pupils in Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly received educational support materials from AiD Ghana.

AiD Ghana donates books, other learning materials to schools in Kasoa

The group, in collaboration with Coca-Cola Bottling Company, distributed 20,000 exercise books, 1,600 reading and text books, rulers, sharpeners, pencils, pens and mathematical sets worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the students from 39 basic schools in the municipality.

Present at the event were the Member of Parliament for the area, Mavis Hawa Koomson and the Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Micheal Mensah.

The event took place at the Ofaakor M/A Basic School last Thursday. Coca-Cola partnered AiD Ghana as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

In a statement. Mrs Koomson urged other NGOs to emulate the effort of Aid Ghana and Coca-Cola.

On his part, the Municipal Director of Education at the Awutu Senya Municipal Assembly, Mr Samuel B. Bortey, praised AiD Ghana for the donation.

AiD Ghana, last year, also donated items such as drinks, washing power, water and clothes worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Good Shepherd orphanage close to Bawjiase in the Central Region.

In addition, the group also cooked for the children and painted a classroom block used by the orphanage for lessons.
