New legislation to make education up to SHS compulsory- Akufo-Addo
According to the president, the new legislation is to eliminate the "drop out" syndrome and also boost citizen's chances at finding meaningful employment.

He made the comments in the Ashanti Region where he is on a five-day working visit.
"Very soon, we will pass legislation that stipulates that every child in Ghana should go to school up to Senior High School level, at least," he said.

"We don’t want dropouts. This way, everyone can find meaningful employment in this country. We have reduced electricity tariffs as well, so as to bring relief to individual households, as well as to businesses…” he added.
