Ghana defeated Guinea 2-0 in their opening group A clash of the 2017 WAFU Cup

Black Stars B dominated play as they edged their Guinean counterparts 2-0 in the 2017 WAFU Cup at a packed Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Maxwell Konadu’s charges mapped up a high pressing strategy in the first half and controlled the game, but the Guineans were resilient in defence to coil their attacking threats.

Ghana after the interval continued to press for the opener and just four minutes into the half a superb move along the right flank by Felix Addo saw ball his locate Stephen Sarfo, who positioned himself well to slot the ball into the net.

The Black Stars B continued to search for more goals as players like Isaac Twum, Gideon Waja, Wilful Cobbina dominated the midfield and in the course of that they doubled their lead.

Ghana made it 2-0 in the 76th minute- Another run along the wing by right full back Amos Frimpong found his cross fall the way of Patrick Razak and his header was also connected home by Kwame Kizito who came off the bench like Patrick Razak.

Thomas Abbey won the NASCO Man of the Match for the game.
