NDC sets-up a conflict resolution committee

Director of research of the NDC, Dr. William Ahadzie has said the committee is expected to straighten-out differences ahead of the 2016 elections.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set-up a conflict resolution committee as part of efforts to settle differences that arose out of its recent parliamentary primaries.

The committee, which will be headed by a former General Secretary, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, is also expected to review the suspension of parliamentary nominee for Ningo Prampram, Sam George and the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale.

The Greater Accra regional executive of the NDC suspended the two following allegation of verbal attack on them.

But, director of research of the NDC, Dr. William Ahadzie has told Accra-based Citi FM, the committee is expected to straighten-out differences ahead of the 2016 elections.

“As we are saying, we like to mend fences and get those experienced hands who lost to come back and share their experiences with the new ones.  The party itself has virtually completed the exercise of setting up a peace and reconciliation committee which will be going to the constituencies. This is because we have a bigger election to fight. This is just an in-house fight to get the one who would go and unseat all the NPP parliamentarians,” he said.

Meanwhile, angry supporters of the embattled National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George have accused his opponent, E.T Mensah and the Greater Accra regional chairman of the party Ade Coker of masterminding his suspension.

The supporters argue that the latest decision, if not rescinded, will affect the fortunes of the party in the upcoming elections.
