The man arrested during church service for carrying a gun at President Mahama's church on Sunday Charles Antwi has told an Accra Circuit court he carried the gun with the intent to kill the president.
According to Mr. Antwi, his actions were as a result of the fact that President Mahama was made president instead of him after the death of President John Evans Atta Mills.
He further told the court presided over by Justice Francis Obiri that he did not agree with the current electoral system being practiced in the country something he says is not good for democracy.
The suspect also revealed to the court that the day he was arrested was the the fourth time he had gone to church but failed to carry out his mission because the president was not in church.

Security operatives on guard at President Mahama’s church, prevented what could have been a bloody on Sunday after they found a loaded gun on the 36-old-man who according to a statement from the Ministry of Communications, was “fidgety” and looked “suspicious.”
President John Mahama and his family who worship at the Ringway Gospel Centre branch of the Assemblies of God Church were not in church at the time.
He has being charged with unlawful possession of firearms, a charge he has pleaded guilty to.
