Ghana coach praises Ghanaian players in EPL

Ghana coach Avram Grant has heaped praise on the performance of Ghanaian players in Europe this season.Deputy Black Stars captain Andre Ayew was an instant hit in his debutseason with Swansea while Jeffrey Schlupp and Daniel Amartey helped Leicester City to win the 2015/16 English Premier League in a remarkable fashion.

Grant told the press after Black Stars training: “I think they played well because since the AFCON, all the players are playing good teams in Europe and I know their clubs are also happy with their performances”“We also speak about mentality and now in the English league we have a number of players who are doing well,and across other European leagues."“Our players did so well so am impressed.” The Black Stars will hold two training sessions on Tuesday May 31 before they travel to Port Louis on Wednesday June 1 for the game which will be played on Sunday at the Stade George.Ghana is leading Group H with 10 points and a draw in Mauritius will seal their place at next year’s AFCON in Gabon.
