In 2015, Ghana’s Stonebwoy beat Ghanaian counterpart Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) to win the category.

The presentation was done ahead of the main event which will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, United States of America on Sunday, June 26.
