Floyd Mayweather Jnr meets U.S President elect Donald Trump

As President-elect Donald Trump searches for candidates to fill his Cabinet, he found time on Wednesday to meet with Mayweather for a photo op, which was tweeted out by Donald Trump Jr.

US president elect found time to catch up with retired boxer Floyd Mayweather, despite his water-tight schedule.

The former undefeated pound-for-pound No.1 was in New York to promote Badou Jack's fight with Brit James DeGale .

And he posed for a photo with Trump and his son, Donald Jr. in an office in Trump Towers.

Trump was ringside at Mayweather's penultimate fight last year when he outpointed long-time rival Manny Pacquiao.

Having defeated Hillary Clinton in the presidential election last week, Trump has started to assemble his team.

He will be officially sworn in on January 20 as he takes over from Barack Obama.

Mayweather, meanwhile, insisted he has no plans to come out of retirement.

"A lot of fighters in the sport of boxing may want to retire, but they have to fight because they have to," he said.
